Launch of BIGEN AFRICA's Power of Purpose

1 September 2008

On Monday 1 September 2008 BIGEN AFRICA launched its Power of Purpose - an initiative aimed at BIGENites generating and implementing practical ideas that will positively influence our internal and external environment, beyond 2010.

The launch included a workshop that addressed identifying changes in the world and South Africa that have had the greatest impact on the environment, which of those change we could control, and which we can influence to make change work for us. Values and behaviour that drive changes that were discussed included understanding human needs, thinking, feelings, decisions, and reaction to change.

The workshop culminated in 'mapping' our preferred future beyond 2010 and generating practical action to turn 'dreams into reality', and was followed by an address by Cllr William Mahlangu, Member of the Mayoral Committee, City of Tshwane, and a thought provoking presentation by renowned speaker Clem Sunter.
