Farewell to two members of our management team

August 2008

As the South African built environment becomes more and more part of the global stage, it is inevitable that capable, competent and experienced South African engineers attract the attention of world players. It is therefore with both pride and sadness that we at BIGEN AFRICA announce that two of our long serving members of the management team have been lured away from our shores to exciting projects and opportunities overseas.

Andre Greyling has a accepted a position with Wave Engineering in Perth, Australia and will be joining them from the 1st day of October 2008. Andre joined BIGEN AFRICA in 1998 as the Company's Deputy CEO, and was the key driver in a number of initiatives pioneered by the Company during that time, including the establishment of the Management Consulting Services business unit.

George Croucamp has accepted a position with Transcore in Perth, Australia and will be leaving us on 31 December 2008. George has been with BIGEN AFRICA since 1981 and has been running one of the company's larger business units, namely Bulk Engineering Services, and has overseen the growth and establishment of the Johannesburg and Bloemfontein branches of the Company.

Andre and George have both been pioneers in their fields and much of their investment of time and energy has gone into developing competent successors who will take their initiatives to the next level. BIGEN AFRICA's strength lies in its depth of management and Andre and George leave in the knowledge that their legacy will be competently driven by their successors.

Recently, you will have read about the bolstering of our structures division following the appointment of Johann Human as Director. Johann brings valuable experience in the structures arena with some large and innovative projects behind him. Other recent appointments as Directors are Solomon Lehobo in our Management Consulting Services business unit, and Andre Olivier in Infrastructure Development Services. These new additions to our management team foster the continuation of Andre and George's legacy.

Looking forward, BIGEN AFRICA is on the verge of some exciting new initiatives which we will shortly announce. What we can announce is a project born out of our growing sense of responsibility to make a difference in a country faced by so much political, social and economic uncertainty. The launching of our ''POWER OF PURPOSE' initiative coincides with the first day of spring and will enable BIGENites to develop practical ideas and projects to jointly tackle issues that have significance outside of themselves and in the community.

Finally, we are sure that our Clients join us in thanking Andre and George for their tireless contribution to the Company, and in wishing them and their families everything of the best in their future endeavours.
