The Annual Bigen Africa Fundraising Golf Day took place on 13 August 2015 at the Scenic Serengeti Golf Estate in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. One million rand was raised in aid of several deserving social upliftment organisations across the continent of Africa.
The third annual Bigen Africa partnership conference was held in June 2015 at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria East. The aptly themed “Invented in Africa” conference saw a host of foreign delegates and presenters in attendance. The conference serves to further enforce Bigen Africa’s focus on strategic partnerships to boost infrastructure development on the continent of Africa.

Managing Director of Ryocom, Michael Renshaw addressed delegates on the impact of global trends on the continent of Africa. He further discussed how these trends lead to infrastructure developmental challenges.
The Bigen Africa Partnership conference presents the perfect opportunity for colleagues and business partners from the rest of the continent, to explore partnership strategies to address the infrastructure development challenges facing the continent of Africa.
On 15 April 2015, Bigen Africa strengthened its growing African footprint by opening an office in Accra, Ghana.
The opening ceremony which was attended by a host of esteemed guests included the South African high commissioner to Ghana HE Ms L Xingwana and the Ghanaian minister of public, private partnership, the Honorable Rashid Pelpuo.
During her address to the delegates, Ms Xingwana congratulated Bigen Africa in its attempts to provide infrastructure development solutions to the Africa continent. She noted that companies such as Bigen Africa form a key component of successful South African- Ghanaian interaction.

Bigen Africa hosted its maiden “Captains of Industry” Awards evening on Tuesday, 25 November 2014. The purpose of the event, held at the Bigen Africa head office in Pretoria, Gauteng, was to give tribute to clients, business partners and suppliers, all of whom play a key role in helping to realise the company’s vision of developing sustainable infrastructure that will improve the quality of life of all.
The highlight of the evening’s programme was the handover of awards in six categories to acknowledge specific contributions of the winning organisations. In celebrating productive relationships with these and other companies, Bigen Africa chose to focus on “partnerships”, a vital element of the company’s business plan, as the main theme of the event.
The Debtorwise Award for the client with the most up-to-date payment history went to Absa Property Development (Pty) Ltd. Charles Witbooi-Development Manager of affordable housing was proud to receive the award on behalf of Absa.
The Changing our World Award for the first client to actively support Bigen Africa’s “doing good while doing business” creed by assigning a project to the Intuthuko Foundation, was presented to Dawie van Roy, COO of Agriculture at TSB Sugar.
Kimathi Dake, Managing Director of Ghanaianconstruction firm, Jescan, receives the Great Start Partnership Award for the first partnership outside South Africa to be signed with Bigen Africa.
Philna Potgieter, Head of Export Credit Finance at Nedbank Capital, receives the Great Start Partnership Award inside South Africa on behalf of Nedbank Capital – the first client inside South Africa to sign a continental partnership agreement with Bigen Africa;
The Design Challenge Award for the most innovative project was received, on behalf of the City of Cape Town, by Melanie Ohlson, Head of Public Transport Infrastructure and Design, for the Wallacedene Taxi Rank.
Dr Snowy Khoza (Bigen Africa CEO) and Anton Boshoff (COO) present the True Blue Loyalty Award to Urban Dynamics for being the company which has supported Bigen Africa the longest. The award was received by Jean Luc Limacher on behalf of Urban Dynamics.
The opening address was made by Richard Nwamba, Programme Director and host of the popular music programme “The African Connection” on SAFM, followed by a prayer by Pastor Jean Symonds of the Doxa Deo Church.
