With its roots firmly founded in civil consulting engineering, the BIGEN AFRICA Group commenced operations in South Africa in 1971. Today the BIGEN AFRICA Group staff complement of over 350 permanent and other employees comprises engineers, project managers, technicians, technologists, quantity surveyors, engineering draughtspersons, site staff, human resource, financial, administrative, and support people.

In October 2006, in a deal funded by the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Pan African Capital Holdings (Pty) Ltd (www.pan-african.co.za) acquired a 30% stake in BIGEN AFRICA that resulted in a formidable new entity in Southern Africa’s consulting engineering fraternity. Now operating under the name BIGEN AFRICA, the extensive infrastructure development skills and expertise from the two companies prove invaluable in contributing towards the government’s infrastructure rollout targets.
