Doing good while doing business

EnergyIntroduction

Energy is critical to the entire fabric of economic and social development in South Africa, and elsewhere in the world. Thinking ‘smarter’ about renewable energy, energy efficiency, and infrastructure management and creation is non-negotiable if we want to mitigate the negative impacts of energy production and consumption on the economy, society and the environment. Access to efficient sources of energy is critical to South Africa’s economic well-being and growth. While 70 % of the population has access to electricity – well above the SADC average of approximately 20 % – nearly half of rural households do not have power. The much-debated aspects of traditional methods of producing, transporting and using energy are a well-traversed landscape. Currently, renewable energy contributes relatively little to primary energy and even less to the consumption of commercial energy. While necessary, merely setting “renewable” obligations and targets may not be sufficient.

Our Value Proposition

Bigen Africa has an extensive track record in the successful delivery of even the largest and most complex bulk electrical services and distribution infrastructure projects on time, to specification and within budget.

Our integrity, commitment, desire to serve, passion for excellence and empowerment, and our innovative and creative working environment provide our specialist, multi-disciplinary teams with a solid foundation from which to implement successful projects.

Bigen Africa Energy offers clients a host of experienced professionals that are not only experts in their field, but are also representative of our diverse culture.

Through a Programme and Project Management approach, we will form an integrated team with the client and we will collectively ensure that specific targets are set and achieved.

Beyond traditional fuel sources, we want to partner with businesses, municipalities, residential estates and others to ensure that South Africa meets its 2013 renewable energy target. The declining availability of natural resources with which to generate electricity leaves us with little choice but to comply. In this way we can, together with our clients, contribute to South Africa’s green footprint.

Through this partnership approach project risks and quality will be managed and skills transferred to the client.
